Dear Saints,
“Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” Revelation 2:10
This notice of Episcopal Transition is issued in accordance with the directive of our Chief Overseer and Senior Bishop, Bishop Dr. Clary K. Butler, Sr.
God, in His infinite wisdom, has called home His devoted servant, Bishop Dr. Semmie Z. Taylor. Born on January 1, 1933, in Boca Raton, Florida, Bishop Taylor’s life has been marked by faith, courage, and service. Over the decades, he has pastored multiple congregations across Florida, Texas, and Tennessee, serving as a Chief Helper, a Supreme Executive Council member, and a General Trustee in the House of God Church. His leadership has strengthened the church’s foundation, both spiritually and structurally, ensuring that future generations inherit a thriving ministry.
He faithfully served as Presiding State Bishop for the Diocese of Wisconson/Illionois and the Island of Haiti. His ministry spanded beyond ecclesiatic bounds as he was a civil-rights leader and social justice advocate. As we honor his life and legacy, we ask for your continued prayers and support for the Taylor family. May the life and legacy of this dearly beloved remain ever present in our hearts.
“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on…they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Revelation 14:13
In The Service of the Lord,
Elder P. Stephon Smiley, Sr.
Adjutant-General
The House of God Church, Inc. – Keith Dominion
