General Assembly Baptism

Water baptism is a symbolic act where a person is immersed in water, representing a spiritual cleansing and rebirth. Water baptism is a public declaration of one's commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Jesus was baptized (Matthew 3:13-17) and instructed his followers to baptize believers in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19). Water baptism can be compared to a burial and resurrection, symbolizing a new life in Christ (Romans 6:4). It's a significant step of obedience and identification with the Christian faith.

Baptism during the 2024 House of God Church General Assembly is scheduled for 10:00am CT., Sunday, June 23, 2024. All candidates for baptism should report to the multipurpose room to check-in, receive instructions and pickup a baptism t-shirt no later than one hour prior to the start of the baptism service. Baptism registration will be open from 8:00am-10:00am.

How do I know if I am ready?

  • You understand sin separates humanity from God.

  • You have given up all efforts to reach God through your own good works or religious activity.

  • You have concluded that Jesus' death on the cross for your sins is the only thing that can bridge the gap between you and God.

  • You have decided to trust Jesus alone for your life and salvation.

Baptism for kids:

All children are created in the image of God. Our Young Folks and Friends Union seeks to educate children and students about the seriousness and importance of baptism. Once a person (regardless of age) is able to thoughtfully and carefully make a decision for themselves to follow Jesus they should seal their decision in the waters of baptism.
